چکیده

The Warm Plasma Dispersion Relation, for waves in the electron cyclotron resonance range of frequencies, can be cast into form a bi-quadratic equation $N_\perp$, where coefficients are function $N_\perp^2$ and an iterative procedure is required to obtain solution. However, this not well understood fails converge towards solution at second harmonic layer. In particular higher densities wave couple Bernstein wave. This paper focuses on poor convergence method, enabling determination topology dispersion relation around using fully relativistic code oblique waves. A feed-forward controller proposed with ability adjust rotation step within complex plane, while also limiting step-size. It shown that implementation stabilizes unstable solutions, improving overall robustness iteration. allows evaluation coupling between fast extraordinary mode layer, non-perpendicularly propagating

Study of Plasma Start-up Initiated by Second Harmonic Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating on WEGA Experiment

Although both 1 harmonic ordinary mode (O1) and 2 harmonic extra-ordinary mode (X2) have been successfully used to initiate pre-ionization and breakdown in many devices, a complete theoretical model is still missing to explain the success of this method. Moreover, some experimental observations are not completely understood, such as what occurs during the delay time between the turn-on of ECRH ...

TE 01 Excitation of an Electron Cyclotron Resonance Plasma Source

The uniformity of plasma generation in electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) reactors for materials processing, and the subsequent uniformity of fluxes to the substrate, are generally a function of the mode of the microwave radiation injected into the chamber. In this paper, a finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulation is used to demonstrate the consequences of exciting an ECR reactor using a...

Plasma expansion from a dielectric electron cyclotron resonance source

The boundary conditions in an electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) source have been modified to mimic the operating conditions where current-free double-layers (DLs) have been recently measured in rf helicon plasmas. The plasma is heated or generated by the ECR at 875 G inside a dielectric source tube, and expands into a grounded diffusion chamber (terminated by a glass plate) by a rapidly decrea...
